Who are we?
Simon Cummings
Simon Cummings is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist accredited with the Australian Association for Exercise and Sports Science (AAESS) both as an Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and a Musculoskeletal Specialist (AMS.)
He is one of the longest serving Exercise Physiologists in the country, commencing work in the field of exercise rehabilitation with the Arthritis Foundation of WA in 1991.
He has worked in clinics in Perth and Canberra with numerous patients who have chronic medical conditions and those who have experienced motor vehicle accident (MVA), work and sports injuries.
In addition to his work with the general population he has also provided injury management and strength and conditioning (fitness) services to many athletes in teams at the elite level.
He has a strong belief that helping his patients and athletes achieve their best feasible physical functions has the potential to increase their health, function, quality of life and performance.
Nikki Cummings
Nikki Cummings is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD), she completed her nutrition degree and Graduate Diploma in Dietetics at Curtin University and more recently completed her PhD investigating the impact of high calcium foods on weight regulation.
Her first role as a Dietitian took her to Canberra where she held the position of Food Service and Sports Dietitian at the Australian Institute of Sport, she assisted many of our Australian athletes eat the right food in the lead up to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Since returning to Perth at the end of 2000, Nikki has worked as a dietitian in private practice at St John of God Medical Clinic in Murdoch. Nikki’s main areas of interest are weight management, including pre- and post bariatric surgery nutrition, diabetes control, nutrition for optimal sports performance and nutrition for gastrointestinal disorders. Nikki is also a lecturer at Edith Cowan University.
Nikki is co-author of the AIS’ Survival for the Fittest cook book and author of a chapter in the International Sports Nutrition text book, Clinical Sports Nutrition.
Nikki does not believe that healthy eating has to be difficult and likes to work with clients to make complicated nutrition messages into a simple way of life.
Bridget Marshall
Bridget Marshall is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD). She qualified from the University of Sydney with a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics. Her experience in dietetics covers a range of specialties.
Bridget’s main areas of interest are weight management (including bariatric surgery), diabetes, heart health, nutrition support in oncology, nutrition for gastrointestinal disorders, malnutrition and nutrition in women’s health. Bridget has previously worked at hospitals in NSW and at a specialised Weight Management clinic. Bridget also works at Fremantle Hospital.
